The Viridians started off their first day in Spectrum Hills much like many other families did – hanging out on their front lawn talking with one another. It was a lovely day out, and none of them were all that eager to be indoors, even to check out their new house. When Mr. Humble dropped off their complimentary computer, Sebastian took it inside and set it up. Once he had everything connected, he checked the job listings in the area, but there was nothing available in the fields that he and his brothers wished to work in. While he was working with the computer, the others had drifted inside one by one. Someone fixed some sandwiches for lunch, and they spent the rest of the day in leisurely pursuits. One of their neighbors, Hefina Brandeis, dropped by early in the afternoon, and they all took time to speak with her.

Early Tuesday morning, Sebastian checked the new job listings, and was pleased to see a new position had opened up in the Adventurer field. He called the number in the ad, and after a short conversation was gainfully employed. He had to hurry to get ready as the job started immediately, and the car pool would be by to pick him up before long. None of his brothers were as lucky with the job prospects and so they all had another day free to entertain themselves. Vadim tried out one of the games that had come installed on the computer they were given, and discovered that he really enjoyed it.

Meanwhile, Prisca’s old sewing machine was finally delivered to the house, and she settled down to try it out. She had inherited the machine from her mother, and though it was antique, it still functioned smoothly. She decided to try her hand at making a potholder, and found she really enjoyed creating things.

Now that they were both retired, Vadim decided to see if he could finally accomplish his dream of having 50 dream dates with his wife before they both passed away, and so that evening he asked Prisca on a date in the comfort of their own living room. They soon were wrapped up with one another and had one date after another through the night and into the morning. Their sons pretended not to notice, and indeed, Glauco and Sebastian found distractions of their own in the form of a couple of ladies who happened past the house. Glauco met Bella Moreno in the afternoon, and while she couldn’t stay long at first, she came back later and they had a dream date at the house.

Sebastian had to work that day, though the others were still unable to find a job in their preferred fields. He came home with a promotion due to his diligence in working on his skills.

Later that evening, he met Ceres Lynch when she walked past the house in the early evening, and after a bit of small talk, he wasted no time in asking her on a date that turned into a dream date for them.

Thursday passed much like the other days had, with still no luck on the job front for Douglas, Jurek and Glauco, though Glauco was mostly just being lazy about picking a job since his true interests lay elsewhere than with a career. Prisca received an invitation to join the Arts Studio, though the representative that came by the house had to leave it on the nightstand as Prisca had already fallen asleep before the woman arrived. Vadim later received an invitation to the Gamers hangout. The representative arrived while he was playing chess with Sebastian, and while Glauco was receiving some good news on the phone from a woman that Bella had introduced him to.

Friday saw little change to the routines that had been established in the house. Sebastian continued to go to work and work on his skills while the others kept themselves occupied in one fashion or another. For Glauco and Douglas, this involved more dates. Glauco, though rather smitten already with Bella, still remembered that Hefina Brandeis had seemed interesting as well, so he invited her over for a date to see how that might go. It went quite well, and the date was a dream date, but he still felt that Bella was the one who had truly won his heart.

Douglas met a lady named Adele Freeman who passed by the house, and after talking with her a bit, asked her on a date, right there in the front yard. She accepted, but try as he might she remained cool to him, and the date was only a moderate success in the end. He didn’t really expect to hear from her again, so was quite surprised when the postal carrier brought a love letter for him from Adele the next morning. He was even more surprised when she called him later in the day and invited him to go on another date with her, this time Downtown. Intrigued, he accepted and said he’d meet her Downtown at the Sunshine Park. This date went much better, though he got a bit worried early on when an old woman who was notorious for her dislike of PDAs entered the park not long after they’d started their date.

Fortunately for Douglas and Adele, Mrs. Crumplebottom remained preoccupied with her knitting and left them alone. The date was a success, and before they went their separate ways for the evening, Adele made it clear that she’d like to see him again.

After their date ended and Adele had wandered away to talk with some of her friends who had happened by, Douglas decided to stay for awhile and get to know a few more people. A brief conversation with a woman named Felicia Williamson provided him with an unexpected opportunity for employment. It wasn’t in the field he wanted to get into, but he jumped at the chance anyway, hoping that it might help him find a job more in line with his dreams if he could fill out his resume more.

Douglas thanked Felicia and promised to be on time his first day, then wandered on to introduce himself to an interesting looking woman who had just appeared  by the pay phone.

He spoke with Tiffany for a few minutes, but as the hour was growing late, he soon called for a cab and headed back home.

Meanwhile, Prisca had managed to earn her bronze badge in sewing earlier in the afternoon, and Sebastian came home from work that evening with another promotion.

Sunday was a fairly lazy day for the entire family, with the four “boys” not doing much of any consequence all day, while Vadim worked on his quest for 50 dream dates with Prisca some more. It was during one of their dates that Jurek started dancing to the stereo as though they weren’t even there and discovered how much he enjoyed it.

The night passed uneventfully, and with the dawning of Monday morning, the Viridian’s first week in Spectrum Hills came to a close.  While their successes on the employment front were few overall, their nearly universal success on the romantic front gave them much hope for the future in their new home.

Author’s Notes: The week passed fairly quietly for the most part in this house. There was always something going on here with so many sims in the household, but not a lot of great consequence. The job openings were uncooperative all week, and the gaming career never came up, so neither Douglas or Jurek got to start on their LTW. I was glad to see Glauco and Hefina get along so well and prove to be fairly compatible (2 bolts), since it would be nice to match up the playables and limit the number of townies that come in for population control purposes, but Glauco insists that Bella is the one he wants to marry. He never once rolled any wants regarding Hefina, except perhaps the want to be friends or best friends with her, but once he’d rolled up the want to get engaged to Bella, it persisted. I’ll most likely give in to his clear preference, but didn’t get a chance to this week with trying to get things going for the rest of them. Jurek is the only one that I didn’t get to find even a potential match for, but his turn will come next time I’m sure. As for which of the “boys” will stay and which will go to start their own household, I’m not entirely sure yet. I’ll have to see what happens when I get back to this house to decide. Vadim ended up with 6 dream dates on his count this week I think. He and Prisca could easily have done many more, but I had to pay attention to the “boys” as well, and also wanted to let Prisca have time to do things of her own and not just spend the entire week in her underwear with her husband.
